This is home to various organizations that are resolved to innovative work, pharmaceuticals, communications, assembling and conveyance, gadgets, PC programming and medicinal services. It is home to many Canadian industry leaders.


The city has a desire to control urban sprawl by requesting higher density for new condominium development. The city’s plan calls for more development along Highway 7 and northward toward the farm. The number of condo sale in January 2020 is 74.  As of today, Markham condo data shows median days on market for a condo is 10.5 days. The price of 2-bedroom apartment from January to 5 February was $614K about 10% greater than the previous year. While the 3-bedroom apartment price has raised by 42% from 2019 which is $851K in 2020. Due to higher prices it is ranked as 11th most expensive area in GTA.
